Membership

Membership is open to anyone fifty-five (55) years or older. Membership depends on the types of activities a member participates in. If you wish to participate in a senior center on a regular basis, you will be asked to register and sit down with one of our Information and Referral specialists (Case Worker) for an interview. This process usually takes about fifteen to thirty minutes, and involves answering some questions, meeting center staff members or volunteers, taking a tour of the facility, and learning more about the center's programs and services. Membership is currently $30.00 per year. You can pay your membership by mail or in person.

The following documents may be required:

  • Driver's license, photo ID, or other proof of age

  • Proof of residency

  • Social Security card or number

Forms, Fees, and Events

  • Consent to Obtain or Give Medical Information

By signing this form, you give permission to center staff to discuss issues related to your health and welfare with social workers or health care professionals if needed.

  • Exercise Release Form

Those wishing to take part in exercise classes or using fitness equipment will be asked to sign a release form. By signing the form you agree that you and your physician (who also has to approve your usage) are aware of risk factors. This form releases the center, its parent organization, staff, or instructors from liability arising from, or connected to, exercise activities at the center.

  • Photographic Release Form

By signing this form you give permission for your picture to be taken within the senior center or on sponsored outside activities and to be reproduced for us in any medium, including distribution to electronic, film, tape, and/or print media, etc.

  • Class Fees

Senior Centers offer a wide variety of affordable classes and activities for seniors. You can call or visit the individual centers to learn more about what is offered. The cost of a class is kept as low as possible; for instance, if a volunteer teaches the class, the cost may be free.

  • Special Events

Most special events are one-time only programs, like themed parties offered in some centers. A small fee may be charged for these special events and generally tickets must be purchased in advance. Day trips and overnight trips may also be offered.
